Why We Do What We Do

For decades, large institutional investors have allocated heavily to private markets and alternative investment vehicles due to their long time horizons and ability to forgo liquidity. These allocations provided diversification beyond public markets and the opportunity for outsized returns on both a risk-adjusted and absolute basis.

In recent years, a democratization movement begun, with these same markets becoming more accessible to the high net-worth and mass affluent investor. However, implementing these offerings with clients requires a significant outlay of time and resources for the private wealth advisor community.

At Trident Strategic Partners, we work with investment advisors to deliver these opportunities to their clients, allowing them to gain exposure to the same benefits that have previously only been reserved for institutional investors.

Chris is a principal and managing partner of Trident Strategic Partners. In this role, Chris works to craft and implement the long-term strategic vision of the firm. He supports the firm’s investment advisory practice, providing private alternative investment advice and solutions to high-net worth individuals, family offices, RIAs, and other institutions. Chris also supports the firm’s investment management practice through his expertise in fundraising, compliance, fund structure, and deal due diligence.

Chris began his financial services career with a Fortune 500 insurance provider. From there, he transitioned into private wealth management where he worked with another Fortune 500 firm and later a boutique startup firm. With the latter, he was one of the first employees and helped oversee the buildout of what was later named the fastest growing RIA in North Carolina, growing from under $100M in assets to over $600M in assets in just four years.
